to Nepalganj |

a. By Road:
If you are coming to Nepalganj by road, via any route, you will
have to come to India-Nepal International border town Rupaidiha.
Rupaidiha is a small border town in India which lies in Baharaich
district and is just 185 kilometres from Lucknow via Baharaich town.
From Rupaidiha, Nepalganj is just 5 kilometres which you can cover
by rickshaw, city bus, three-wheeler tempos etc.
You can opt any of these three ways for Nepalganj:
From Lucknow (185 kilometres)-
This is the most popular and convenient way to Nepalganj. Nepalganj
is only 185 kilometres from Lucknow. Lucknow is the capital city
of Uttar Pradesh province of India . Frequent Air-conditioned and
normal buses, shared taxis, reserved taxis are available for Nepalganj
round the clock. There are two bus stands in Lucknow, one is at
Alambagh and another is at Kaisarbagh. Taxi stand for Nepalganj
is located near Artificial Limb Centre, Daliganj, Bans Mandi in
Lucknow.
From New Delhi- (500 kilometres)-
New Delhi is about 500 kilometres from Nepalganj. From New Delhi
you can come to Lucknow. There are several express, super-fast and
normal trains between New Delhi and Lucknow. From Lucknow you can
arrive Nepalganj as stated in just above paragraph.
From Agra (470 kilometres) -
Agra is about 470 kilometres from Nepalganj. From Agra there are
two routes for Nepalganj. -
OPTION 1. You can come to Lucknow. There are several express,
fast and normal trains between Agra and Lucknow. From Lucknow you
can arrive Nepalganj as stated in above paragraph of 'From Lucknow'.
OPTION 2: You can take a train to arrive Bareilly. From Bareilly
there are several U.P.Roadways buses direct to Rupaidiha, the Indian
border town for Nepalganj. Or from Bareilly, you can catch express
train 'Gokul Express' which starts about 10:00 PM from Bareilly
for Nanpara. From Nanpara Nepalganj is only 19 kilometres which
you can cover by local trains or local buses. Also you can catch
a passenger train which starts from Bareilly at about 05:30 morning
for Nanpara.
From Bareilly (260 kilometres) -
Bareilly is about 260 kilometres from Nepalganj. From Bareilly there
are several U.P.Roadways buses direct to Rupaidiha, the Indian border
town for Nepalganj. Or from Bareilly, you can catch express train
'Gokul Express' which starts about 10:00 PM from Bareilly for Nanpara.
From Nanpara Nepalganj is only 19 kilometres which you can cover
by local trains or local buses. Also you can catch a passenger train
which starts from Bareilly at about 05:30 morning for Nanpara.
From Lakhimpur (110 kilometres) -
Nepalganj is only about 110 kilometres from Lakhimpur. If you are
coming from New Delhi, Nainital, Haridwar, Dehradoon or say from
Nort-west part of India, you can come to Nepalganj either via Lucknow
or via Lakhimpur. From Lakhimpur you can hire taxi or come by bus
to Nepalganj.
From Shrawasti (85 kilometres) -
If you are visiting Shrawasti, the hol and religious place of Gautam
Buddha, you can come to Nepalganj from Shrawasti also. Nepalganj
is about 100 kilometres. You can hire taxi from Shrawasti for Nepalganj.
We recommend you to come to Nepalganj via Lucknow
route as this is most easy and convenient way and also the means
of transport on this route are good and comfortable.
b. By Train from India:
The nearest Indian Railway Station is Nepalganj Road which is only
5 kilometres from Nepalganj.
The nearest Junstion Railway Station is Nanpara Junction which is
24 kilometres from Nepalganj.
The nearest District headquarter Railway Station is Baharaich which
is 60 kilometres from Nepalganj.
You can get several trains from Lucknow to Gonda Junction round
the clock and from Gonda to Nepalganj there are six trains daily.
From Lucknow your route by train will be :
Lucknow - Gonda Junction - Baharaich Junction - Nanpara Junction

c. By Air from India
Nearest Airport in India is Lucknow. Lucknow
is about 185 kilometres from Nepalganj. Lucknow is connected
by air from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Los Angeles etc. New
Delhi airport is about 500 kilometres from Nepalganj.
From Lucknow you can easily reach Nepalganj by frequent U.P.Roadways
buses or shared / reserve taxis. There are two bus stands in Lucknow,
one is at Alambagh and another is at Kaisarbagh.Taxi stand for Nepalganj
is located near Artificial Limb Centre, Daliganj, Bans Mandi in
Lucknow.
Alternatively, from India you can fly to Kathmandu. There are several
regular flights from New Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Varanasi
in India to Kathmandu..
From Kathmandu to Nepalganj there are many domestic Airliner operating
regular flights. There are about 8 to 10 flights daily from Kathmandu
to nepalganj and vice versa.

| 3. From NEPAL, getting
to Nepalganj |

You can go to Nepalganj from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal.
Kathmandu is connected by several direct flights from Japan, south-east
Asia, Europe and Middle-east Gulf countries. From Kathmandu you
can arrive Nepalganj in about 50 minutes flight. Alternative you
can catch a bus which will take about 10 hours.
Road
Bus services out of Nepalganj are centered near and from bus-stand
in Dhamboji. Regular day and night buses head towards Kathmandu,
Pokhara, Thakurdwara (Bardia Wildlife Reserve park), Mahendra Nagar,
Surkhet, Dhangadi, Karnali, Butwal, Biratnagar etc. Prefer to book
your seat in advance on long route buses. You can also rent a vehicle
easily to move quick. Vehicles can be arranged through any of the
better hotels, travel agencies or directly from the airport.
Air
The nearest International airport from Nepalganj is Kathmandu. Kathmandu
is about one hour flight time from Nepalganj. Kathmandu is well-connected
by several major airlines from European countries, east-Asian countruies,
Gulf countries, SAARC countries, Middle-east countres and Japan
also.
Regular flights are available to Kathmandu and remote hilly towns
in Karnali zone, considered paradise for trek lovers because of
scenic beauty, the gateway to Mt. Kailash, Mansarovar in China,
really magnificiant Shey-Phoksumdo lake, Rara lake and much more.
Nepalgunj Airport lies 6 km north of town.
Many airlines (like Yeti Airlines,
Nepal Airlines and many other also) have offices around Birendra
square or B. P. square and airport area. Also you can ask your hotel
or any travel agency for booking. A number of travel agencies can
be found from V.P.Square to Virendra square to Dhamboji to Pushpalal
square and also few on New road.
